Rosendale to front pastedown, his pencilled signature to the limitation page. Very good. Two essays on the surviving worship of Priapus, a minor Roman god of fertility. The author focuses specifically on a small cult following of the God in Isernia, Naples. This book formerly belonged to Simon W. Rosendale (1842-1937), American politician and lawyer who was the first Jew to be elected to state-wide office, specifically as the New York State Attorney General.
