I hesitate to use the word 'Rare' in my listings, however, this item may not only meet but exceed the criteria of RARE.

1984 Axstar by Ibanez in a Rare stratocaster style body. I have owned three Axstar's over the years, two being telecasters.
This is only the 3rd version I have encountered with the strat style body.

These guitars have been mentioned on the Ibanezcollectors.com forum but no one seems to know much about them.
Jim Donohue, a long time employee of Ibanez, and a resident expert on Ibanez history apparently made mention that
some of these guitars had been produced.

Here are some specifics: Serial number F840880. This indicates 1984, 8th month of the year, 80th Axstar manufactured.
The neck/headstock/tuners are identical to the necks on the Axstar telecasters I have owned.
The two tone knobs are push-pull, which is consistent with the Duo Sound System seen on some Roadstar guitar's from
the mid-1980's.
The arrangement of the volume and tone knobs is consistent with other Axstar 6 strings of this era.
The input jack is consistent with other Roadstar guitars of this era.
The bridge is consistent with a vintage Schaller Whammy Bar machination of a licensed Floyd Rose similar to other
bridges seen on some other Axstar guitars of the era.
4 screw cavity cover which seems consistent with other Axstar/Ibby guitars of the era.
The color appears to be soft blue, which over many years has turned surf green.

Unknowns: Pickups are unmarked but sound great. Unsure if this particular body is an RS or RG model.

Overall, the guitars is in very-good-very good plus condition for its age. With moderate fret wear and minor
cosmetic flaws.

Front side of body has some small stray scratches here-and-there. Finish is hazy beneath the pickups. No major
chips nor dings. Front pickup ring has has chip in the left rear screw. Front edge of pickup ring has separated
from the front left screw.  Tremolo arm is missing.

Rear side of body has a few random small indentations and random small scratches.

Edges around the body look great, however, there is a ding near the strap button that has been touched up.

Neck looks great front and back. Moderate fret wear. Guesstimate 65% fret life left. Small 2-3 millimeter crack on one side
of the neck pocket.

Headstock has a few small scuff marks on the front side, and a few small dings on the tip.

Guitar plays great and sounds monstrous. NOTE: New strings have been put on the guitar after photos
were taken. All electronics work as they should.

NO case nor bag with this item. Guitar only.
