In 2009 to celebrate the Countdown to the London 2012 Olympic Games, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Brilliant Uncirculated Countdown £5 Five Pound Crown Coin which is the FIRST in the series of four. 

The reverse designed by Claire Aldridge BA depicts Athletics featuring a dynamic image of Swimmer in Harmony with the Olympic logo graphics .  
Also featured is the FIRST countdown number, '3', representing THREE years to the great event, and the London 2012 Olympic logo. 
The obverse design is the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
