Ibis Mojo SL Retro Carbon MTB Full Suspension Frame 2009 Size Medium

The original Carbon Fibre Ibis Mojo was launched to critical acclaim as a 140mm travel bike that blurred the boundaries between XC race and trail bike in 2006.

I remember seeing one for the first time at Xterra New Zealand in 2007 and I could not keep my eyes off its organic curves and naked carbon finish.  It immediately made my Santa Cruz Blur look dated and the reviews said it rode just as well as it looked.

The 350g lighter SL variant came out at the end 2008 and gained a 4.3* review on Bike Radar with the headlines "Super pricey, but get it set up right and this capable ultralight is an XC/ trail ego-flatterer" and "Curvy featherweight is guaranteed to turn heads".

This particular example has been lightly used and very well maintained as it was a spare race bike frame in the hands of its first owner.  The second owner was a friend of the first who rode it sparingly.

As such it’s in excellent condition with just a few light marks to the durable rubberised lacquer finish here and there and nothing that goes through to the carbon below.  It weighs a scant 2530g on my digital scales.

The suspension moves freely in the workshop and all bearings and linkages appear to be good but as always with an older MTB, it would be prudent to give it a proper service before riding off road in anger.

Its a size medium with the following actual dimensions:

 - Seat Tube c-t: 432mm

 - Top Tube effective horizontal c-c: 580mm

 - Head Tube end to end: 115mm

 - Wheelbase: 1085mm

 - Head Angle: 69-degrees

 - Seat Angle: 73-degrees

 - Seatpost diameter: 31.6mm

- 34.9mm top pull front mech.

 - Rear Travel: 140mm

 - For 140mm travel forks

- 68mm BSA threaded bottom bracket shell

Obviously for a bike of this vintage it runs 26" dimater wheels and has standard 135mm rear axle spacing and is for disc brakes only.  It has an IS mount but adaptors can be purchased for post mount etc.

Included is the red seatpost clamp, complete Cane Creek integrated headset, spare new upper linkages and spare new rear derailleur hanger.

Each tube will be wrapped with thick new foam pipe lagging. The frame will be shipped via Parcel Force insured to value. Overseas shipping available via GSP or contact me for an independent postage quote.
