A Shelley Art Deco "Sweet William" 12488 Oxford shape demitasse cup & saucer. C.1936. 

Pattern No 12488 Sweet William - Blue and pink flowers with green leaves and brown stems. Blue fading to white in cup interior. Blue bands and lines on saucer. Blue trim. Pink ring handle. Entered into pattern book during or after 1935.

The shape of this cup and saucer is the Oxford shape which was produced between 1934 and 1940. 

The back stamp is the 1925-1940 green cartouche mark. 

Dimensions: demitasse cup base 39mm (1.5 inches) / diameter across top of cup 70mm (2.75 inches) / height of cup 60mm (2.3 inches) / diameter of saucer 120mm (4.75 inches).

Condition: Both pieces are in very good clean condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, scratching or signs of wear. No fading to the pattern. Both pieces have a very good "ping" to them when lightly tapped.
