• Libyan Desert glass or Great Sand Sea glass is an tectite, found in areas in the deserts of Libya and Egypt. Fragments of desert glass can be found over areas of tens of square kilometers. Libyan desert glass was also carved into a scarab beetle for Tutankhamun's necklace and was used to make jewelry in ancient Egypt.
