This is an open box item. I have tested the keyboard and the macros, and it does work perfectly. When you configure it, you should use their software, rather than doing it directly on the keypad. There's a note in the box saying the same, with the link.
If the keyboard does not respond, plug it into another USB port on your computer. I had problems with it through a USB hub.
