York Super Custom Cornet 1957 - Reconditioned - Case and York Al-Tru MP Bore: .466 - Serial# 208***

Sweet old York with 80% lacquer. Scratches and some dent work and a couple solders were required at the lower brace on the tuning slide, everything is solid and feels good. Slides are firm and smooth, 3rd slide is feelin' good and caps thread nicely. Oversized case is solid and shows interior wear and age, horn comes with a York Al-Tru mouthpiece.

STRANGE FEATURE: One of the stems (middle) is shorter than the other two. I have an almost complete for parts Super Custom and I pulled the stems off of all 3 valves looking for a replacement and they were the same configuration with the 2nd valve stem shorter than the other 2? If you'd like me to replace the 2nd stem with a matched stem, I will gladly do so with your request so long as it can be aligned.

Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed
Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT)
Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour)
Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly
Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed
Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale

***Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Vintage cases are all disinfected, cleaned and sanitized but there may be a residual horn smell in any old case.

Facilitate a quick return process with cordial communication, returns started without communication will take much longer to process. If your instrument is damaged during shipping, you must take a picture of the box with external damage, the packaging and the damage to the case and or instrument.
