Antique Silver Plated Fish Servers

Approximate dimensions:

Condition Fine with marks indicative of both age and usage.

The Antique Fish Servers are Silver Plated and follow the Old English Pattern style, comprising a fork and slice. The slice measures approximately 315mm, while the fork measures around 234mm. Both pieces bear markings on their necks, notably "EPNS," indicating Electro Plated Nickel Silver, and an unidentified maker's mark.

The design resembles the Hanoverian pattern but differs with a stem end turned downwards. However, the fork's terminal remains upturned for handling ease. The Old English pattern is characterised by simplicity, featuring a plain style with a rounded terminal and a single drop to the reverse of the bowl. It was widely produced during the late 18th Century, continuing through the 19th and 20th Centuries.

Signs of age and usage are present, typical for items of historical significance. The markings not only denote their composition but also provide clues to their provenance and potential historical context.
