Nice piece of South African boxwood (a true boxwood, but a generally larger plant than English boxwood). Note this one does not have pith - not easy to find a clean piece. Tight grain, great for small carvings, netsuke, beads, etc. Also used for the bottom of wooden smoothing planes.
