Rare Japanese RMI Prop Non-Firing Old frontier Navy Revolver M.1851.69 with box

movie prop / non-firing replica modeled after the Colt 1851 Navy Revolver. Perfect for RMI / MGC collectors, Japanese toy collectors, history buffs, firearm enthusiasts, filmmakers, prop departments, etc. The revolver has a nice solid and heavy feel in your hand. You can cock the hammer back and pull the trigger to dry fire the revolver and it turns the cylinder.

Comes with the original box with signs of wear and tear on the box exterior as well as interior. Inside the box, it comes with:

1) the green carboard inserts fair condition from revolver rubbing against it

2) receipt from purchase

3) order form

Under the revolver frame is stamped JAPAN. The revolver is in used vintage condition and could benefit from some screw tightening as the barrel and main frame portion feel a bit loose currently. There is some sort of engraving under the grips on the frame. I could not make out what it says or if it is factory or not. I am not the original owner as this was in my late father in laws.

This was purchased from RMI (Replica Models, Inc) which was the American based company that sold replicas for Japanese company MGC (Model Gun Company), as the MGC brand could not be used outside Japan. Model replica toy guns became a huge hit in Japan after US occupation ended post WW2.
