Hi, up for here is a superb magazine/supplement from 2008. This is ‘WEEKEND’, an English entertainment/ television listing supplement that’s been running for many years. It has a one (1) day only release and comes inside the Daily Mail newspaper every Saturday.

This is a superb and large format magazine measuring just over 14” x 11½” (36cm x 29cm). Printed in full colour on matte stock paper. With it being a supplement, there are no bar code’s prices, etc, plastered all over it. This issue - dated; Saturday, April 19th 2014 - features a great shot of the late Jackie Collins on the entire cover with the tag line: “My sauciest book yet! Jackie Collins reveals why she’s written a sexy new cookbook - and a startling secret about her sister Joan”.
There’s a one and a half (1½) page spread (on 4 &5) and a further half page & photo (on page 6) - titled; “Fancy a bit of sex and power? Try my beef stroganoff“. There’s an interview with Jackie at her home in Beverly Hills with journalist Chrissy Iley regarding her (then) new cookbook, her late husband, and Joan gets a mention,(natch) etc, etc. Also some nice photos alongside the interview. Plus, starting on page 69 is an almost three (3) page feature titled “Jackie’s Hollywood kitchen.” Recipes (taken from Jackie’s cookbook) and photos of food & drink including meatballs, cocktails, sorbet, etc.
The Jessica Brown Findlay article (Downton’s Lady Sybil) covers one and a half (1 ½ ) pages,10 & 11. There’s an interview with her, regarding her then upcoming role in the tv drama “Jamaica Inn” and the reason why she left Downton Abbey.
**The magazine is complete with all eighty (80) pages, but please note - the Jackie C. feature takes up just the front cover and pages mentioned above.
As for the condition, I’m a collector myself and pretty critical when rating items. Having said that, this is in excellent shape - recently ’rediscovered’ in a box a few weeks ago, it has been stored away from dust & sunlight, etc, for just coming up to 10 years! . As mentioned above, all pages are intact and tight in their staples - and NO ‘puling’ tears on the paper The only things to note are some light signs of ’foxing’/browning to the very edges of the paper - slightly more noticeable on the back cover. NO pen markings, puzzles completed, etc. Overall, I’d say this is in above average shape for a 10 year old ‘supplement and comes from a smoke & pet free environment. Rated at a 7.5 out of 10.
There you go, a great “front cover” for the Jackie Collins collector/aficionado.
