This is a portrait of French artist Paul Cezanne by artist Earl Mayan, dated 1967. This artwork has been in the Mayan’s studio these many years. Paul Cezanne (1839-1906) was a French Impressionist painter. The painting is on Illustration board and is matted with archival matting, it measures 12” x 16”.

It was an illustration for the book “Masters of Art”, shown here in the photos. The book is for illustration purposes only, it’s not included in the sale of the painting.

Artist Earl Mayan was well known for his Saturday Evening Post covers in the 1950’s and 60’s. He also did many illustrations for Readers’s Digest Condensed books, and paperback covers for Bantam books, and Grosset and Dunlop publications. He taught painting at NYC’s famous Art Students League for 30 years.
