I’m not a collector, but in 2004 I inherited a toy collection from a very meticulous collector and the toys have been indoors in storage since that time. I’m just now getting around to selling them. According to his records, he purchased this rare toy new in 1996 and it was made in 1995 in Japan by Billiken and features T. Nagamatsu’s Golden Bat “Ogon Bat” character. Ōgon Bat (黄金 バット Ōgon Batto?, lit. "Golden Bat"), also known as Phantaman or Phantoma, is a seminal Japanese superhero created by writer Ichiro Suzuki and illustrator Takeo Nagamatsu in 1930. Ōgon Bat is considered to be the first Japanese superhero. Figure measures about 8.5” tall and is made of tin with a vinyl head and cape collar and has a cloth-liike cape. This toy is in nice condition with some surface scratches as can be seen in photos. Toy is complete with original key. I just took it out of the box to be sure it’s all there, test it and photograph it. Other than that, it's been stored indoors and untouched. It looks great and works great – wind it up and robot travels forward with head antenna spinning. In original box with inserts. Box is also in nice condition.
