Rare all original 1950s “Babyfroid” metal toy tin fridge with metal inner shelves lightbulb and hard plastic door shelves.

The fridge stands about 9” high 5” wide and 4 1/2” deep including its black plastic handle.

The fridge has surface rust only and is pretty much untouched with original baby blue enamel paint. Only one small dent above the B which if you come to repaint can be pushed back from the other side of the shelving panel. No holes or loss of tin plate from rust. It has been stored in our loft for many years hence the surface rust. Last played with in the 1970s, we are now moving and having a grand sort out.

The battery compartment is hidden under a sliding panel at the bottom I think it used a 9 volt rectangle battery from memory This is quite corroded- I would suggest replacing the wiring and battery holder with one from a battery operated string of mini lights. The cover which slid in over the light bulb on one side is lost but it was just a box shape with holes at the front so could easily be refabricated. The “Babyfroid” decal on the front is nice and clear and the door shuts and opens well. A rare toy fridge made in France early 1950s The lightbulb is original to the fridge and untested.
