Has been in our smoke-free family for decades- wasn't used as a "stocking" but was hung up as holiday display decor in various years.
It's in very good condition for it's age, and hasn't had a lot of use.
Please note: item was carefully stored but shows a bit of overall wear from age and handling. This is the only one of this style that we have. This item is over 30 years old and has some wear from age and gently handling and gently infrequent holiday displaying long ago.
The front of the item is needlepointed- and appears to be all hand-crafted- minor imperfections characteristic with needlepoint (minor uneven stitches in a few spots and some 'thinning.'). This looks like a lot of time and effort went into crafting this beautiful heirloom quality holiday item. The angels "face" is a different stitch, perhaps pettipoint (?) The stocking backing is a sturdy deep red velvet and has a matching loop for hanging.
There are at least 12 colors of yarn used in the needlepoint of this (wool, per sewn in tag). This also has gold thread accent "snowflakes" (some fraying on these).

SIZE: (APPROXIMATE): Measures about 15 inches in height. Measurement from corner near loop across to 'toe' is approximately under 19 inches (that's a sideways measurement). Width of opening at top is about 6 inches.Inside has a thin lining of fabric- The backing is a plush deep red color velvet, with a nice finishing piping around the stocking.

CONDITION SPECIFICS: Very good used vintage condition; fresh smelling. (was used as display item, not loaded up as a stocking). Has retained it's shape well. Some minor snagging at the bottom (and areas of thinness where canvas shows a little, this may be original to manufacture). Some minor imperfections in stitching from it being hand stitched.
