 For your consideration:  a Great American Classic WESTERN Boulder, Colo. Hunting / Skinning Knife with stacked Leather-washer handle.

       A beautiful early Western fixed-blade knife...from my personal vintage knife collection and now available with No Reserve!

This vintage small-game knife is in Very Good Condition for its age, and measures 8"  OAL with a reflective steel  4  1/2" clip-point blade.  

           Included is the companion rough-back Leather belt-sheath that "Fits the knife like a glove" and is in Great shape.

From research and the Western factory blade trademark stamping, this decades old USA knife was likely manufactured between 1928 - 1931.

 

Remember "back in their day" these early knives were mostly purchased to be used…Not collected, making a knife in "Very Good Vintage Condition," difficult to find.

 

SIZE:

The overall length is:     8 " in.

The fixed blade is:    4  1/2" in.

BLADE:

This impressive vintage USA-made, 8" overall length knife has  No blade edge nicks and has a bright steel upswept fixed blade.  The 4  1/2" long Clip-point blade is designed with a false top edge (or swedge) that could be sharpened if desired.  

One well-made and well-preserved, early WESTERN BOULDER, COLO. knife...just right for hunting small game like bird or trout, or for collecting.  

The reflective hunting / skinning blade is in "Very Good Condition" for its age.

There are some faint rub marks that I had to use my magnifying glass to see (possibly some from taking the blade in and out of the sheath.) Also, the bright fixed blade has some expected (micro-size) faint tiny surface age specks that are consistent for being decades old.  

I'll leave any decision to sharpen this mostly "mirror-like" vintage Western blade up to the new owner.

 HANDLE:

This popular style of Western's early hunting knives is designed with a stacked Leather-washer handle.  The dark-brown leather spacers handle is comfortable and easy to grip.  The matching composite spacers at each end of the handle are secure and in solid condition. 

There is a shiny Aluminum pommel and an Aluminum 1" long half-guard that is tight, so the knife has No movement. 

Theses Aluminum handle fittings are in "Great vintage condition" and have a few signs of light mild surface age/or rubs. The leather washer handle is secure and has some expected signs of handling or light surface aging. This is an easy-to-grip Western-factory designed handle, and the knife and sheath are just right to use in the field or for collecting.

The vintage Western knife feels solid & well-balanced, when held in your hand...and is just waiting for the right person to appreciate its early USA history and make it their own.

 

SHEATH:

The companion Rough-back leather sheath (or case) is included and measures 8  3/4" long.  This beautiful leather scabbard has intact stitching,  secure metal rivets,  stiff throat area,  belt slot,  and secure leather fastening strap with metal snap.

One early "embossed or tooled" leather sheath with light signs of handling, faint surface scuffs, or a little slight discoloring on the back.  The handsome vintage sheath case is in Very Good Condition for the age and "fits the Western knife like a glove."

The vintage leather belt sheath has beautiful "embossed factory tooling" on the front of an:  Outdoor forest scene a Bull Elk or Majestic Deer standing among trees, by a lake, with a mountain and sky in the back-ground."  

          This well-fitting & "beautifully tooled leather sheath" offers safe, secure carrying of the Western USA knife.

   The old knife has a lot of character and vintage appeal...with that slight "patina of time" appearance not yet achieved with newer knives.

       This very early production run Western Boulder Colo. hunting knife will make a welcomed addition for the outdoorsman, or collector in your family!
