Presented is a great English sterling silver creamer from 1782. This piece
displays a great beaded edge around the base and halfway up the creamer. There
is an elegant tall handle and a square base.
The underside of the base is marked with full English hallmarks: the lion
passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for London, and the date
letter, G, representing 1782. There is also a maker's mark for John
Schofield.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. The creamer has a repair where
the handle meets the top. This repair has been done very well by adding a
half-moon piece of silver and blended seamlessly into the handle. It is actually stronger than the original construction. There are no
monograms and no monogram removals.
Measurements: 5 inches from handle to spout, 2 1/2 inches wide across top,
and 7 inches tall
Weight: 240 grams or 8.5 ounces
