Presented is a beautiful sterling silver small pierced serving spoon or bon
bon/nut spoon from Blackinton. This piece is in the Lotus pattern, which was
patented in 1901. The pattern displays Art Nouveau flowers and cattails along
both sides of the handle. The bowl has fancy fluted pattern and scrolls that
create pierced openwork on the sides of the bowl.
The reverse is marked sterling and with the patent date of 1901. The mark for Blackinton
appears to be covered, but you can still see the top of the B to the left of the
sterling mark.
This piece is in great overall condition. The pattern details are
well-defined. There are no monograms and no monogram removals. There are no
breaks and no repairs.
