This silk Victorian folding parasol has a wooden shaft with a ball handle, a japanned metal slider, and a wooden ball finial.
There are two layers to the canopy, or silk cover. The top layer is pinked along the edges.
It measures 25 3/4" opened to full length.
The top cover has had some sewing reinforcement to most of the places where the silk is attached to the end of the metal ribs, several of these areas also have some is damage to the fabric, also at the edge.
There are two splits to the interior of the silk canopy.
The lining is very good, I can't see any weakness or splitting.
There is some loss to the paint.
1860's or thereabouts.
