Ireland 1922 2d Die I Harrison coil pair Scott 22, SG 29, Hib T23 F- VF MNH

On June 19 of 1922, Harrison and Sons overprinted 4 values of stamps to used for coil stamp dispensing machines. They are distinguished by the "i" in "Rialtas" extending below the other letters. The 2d value was on two different dies of the original stamp. Die 1, which had 4 lines of color above the head, which do not reach the frame, and thicker colored lines around the value tablet, and Die 2, which has 3 lines of color above the head that run into the frame, and thinner colored lines around the value tablet. I am offering a horizontal pair of the 2d, Die 1, Scott #22, SG #29, Hib #T23. The perforations are frequently trimmed on opposite sides (which sides depended upon which direction the coils were, horizontal or vertical). The Hibernian Catalogue notes that perfect perforations all around are worth at least 50% more. The perforations that are normally trimmed on this pair, are perfect. However, there is a short perf on the right side of the right stamp. The stamps are very fresh with NH gum.

The 2024 Scott catalog value for a single stamp NH stamp is $42.50 ($85.00 for a pair), the Hibernian Catalogue values the NH Single with trimmed perfs at €42.00  (€82.00 for pair)

The stamps you see in the scan are the exact stamps you will receive.

Stamps will be sent USPS first class mail with stiffeners to protect stamp.

My shipping charge is minimal and I will combine shipping. If you buy more than one lot, there is only a single shipping charge based on the weight of all of the lots. In order to get the combined shipping charge you need to put all the lots in the same shopping cart and then buy them, but don't pay for them until I send you an invoice, which will show the combined shipping cost. If you buy the items separately, you will be charged a shipping cost by eBay for each individual lot and I will be charged an additional charge for each transaction. There are some cases where eBay may indicate that I don't combine lots and won't allow you to request this. This is not true, but it seems to occur mostly in international transactions where two currencies are involved. If this occurs, just go ahead and pay and I will refund the excess shipping before I ship the lot. The most important thing is to use the shopping cart and pay for all the lots in one transaction.
