In 1979, Ozzy quit Black Sabbath. Or got fired. It depends on who you talk to! He left to begin his (very successful) solo career, and Sabbath continued on with a new singer. Ronnie James Dio came from the bands Elf and Rainbow, so he had some street cred as a hard rock and heavy metal singer. He brought a new style to Sabbath, and they created magic with him onboard! The first two albums are true metal masterpieces, and I try not to use that word TOO often, but it really does apply to the first two Dio led Black Sabbath albums. The first of which is called 'Heaven and Hell'!
Released in 1980, the same year that Ozzy came out with his first solo record titled 'Blizzard of Oz'. And both acts were incredible! Dio wrote most of the lyrics, and all four musicians wrote the music. The songs are great, and are true classics. In 2006, the Earmark company, by way of Sanctuary Records Group, Get Back, and Grimcastle, released this landmark album on a 12" picture disc. It was made in a limited number, so copies frequently go for well over $100 each. But not here, and not today!

The only flaw I see on the pic disc is a five inch split on one side of the jacket. The other sides look fine. The vinyl itself is a thick and heavy 180 gram vinyl. The record is shiny and clean. The two disc set is STILL SEALED and NEVER OPENED or PLAYED! It's the original album remastered in 2021, with THREE bonus tracks, plus a second disc of live cuts from a show in Hartford, CT and another show in London. Early 80s Sabbath never sounded so good!
