Presented is a fabulous set of 10 English Georgian sterling silver knives, likely fruit knives. Eight of the knives are dated 1819, and the remaining two are undoubtedly from around that time as well. The knives have sterling silver blades with rounded tips, and finely carved bovine bone handles.

The knives are in great overall condition. The handles have some minor vertical age lines, as is typical, but are still quite sound and securely mounted to the silver blades. There are no splits or dents to the silver, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

Six of the knives are hallmarked on the blade with the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor mark for the city of Birmingham, the date letter V for 1819 King George III's head duty mark, and the maker's mark IT possibly for Joseph Taylor. Two of the remaining knives are hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the crown mark for the city of Sheffield, the date letter V for 1819 King George III's head duty mark, and the maker's mark for Aaron Hadfield. One of the remaining knives has the lion passant for sterling silver and the duty mark of King George III's head. The final knife has the remnants of at least two marks, but they are almost completely obscured.

The knives range in size from 5 1/2 at the smallest to 6 1/4 at the largest.

The total weight for the set is 157 grams or 5.5 regular ounces.
