I'm clearing out many of my martial arts DVDs as I need the space. Up for auction therefore is "Street Boxing" & "Street Boxing 2" by Robert Paturel & Eric Quequet. These are the original retail discs slipcovers. Original purchase price €29.95 (approx £26.00 GBP's) each or €59.90 (£52.00 GBP's). These DVDs were produced by IProd using professional, high quality, studio video production techniques. IProd ceased trading last year so these DVD's are now out of print.

"Street Boxing" (Boxe de Rue) is a French system of martial arts based on French Boxing & French Savate with influence from other martial arts such as Krav Maga etc. This DVD teaches you how to adapt boxing for the street. It includes instructions in how to block powerful strikes, punches and kicks, how to keep a safety range between your opponent and yourself, how to develop a proper guard for self defence, how to position yourself effectively to deliver powerful strikes while keeping your opponent from being able to land a blow on you,  and how to move correctly when facing one or several opponents. Boxe de Rue is above all, designed to defend yourself on the street as opposed to in the ring. Boxe de Rue is not a sport but a highly effective form of self defence.

Robert Paturel spent 35 years spent on the ring as a competitive boxer and in the dojo as a martial arts practitioner. He earned 6 French Champion boxing titles including the European Boxing Championship title in 1984. He continually sought to blend his boxing experience with his martial arts experience. After practicing almost every boxing style in the world, he became interested in how effective boxing techniques were in self defense including the defense against weapons. One of the basic principles of Boxe de Rue is that the techniques are performed in plain clothes to enable the practitioner experiencing limited the movement. It also utilises the use of the foot (protected by a good shoe) as this is how the individual would be dressed when encountering real life situations.

"Street Boxing 2" deals with defense against weapons (knife and stick). Both volumes are filmed in everyday locations (parking lots, parks, cars etc.) in street clothing to demonstrate the reality and practicality of encountering and counter-attacking real street violence. Street Boxing presents a simple, realistic and efficient way of dealing with street violence. In these DVDs Robert Paturel & Eric Quequet explain many of the challenges you face in this kind of situation, but also show how to escape from an aggressive attack on the street when there's no other way or that human life is at stake.
