Fab 1906 12pc English Sterling Silver Fruit Or Breakfast Set W/ Original Box

Presented is a great quality English sterling silver fruit or breakfast set,
with original box. This set dates to 1906, and was made by the renowned
Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, LTD of London. The set consists of 6
three tine forks and 6 knives, all sterling silver with hollow handles. The
handles are done in a stylish pistol grip style. The box for the set is made
from rich oak wood and is very well constructed, with brass reinforcements at
the corners and a brass inset cartouche on the lid, perfect for a marriage
inscription, presentation, etc. This is a fabulous set, in great shape, clean
and ready for use.

The set is in excellent condition. The knives and forks have no splits, no
breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The box has done a
great job protecting the pieces from the effects of time, and is in good shape
itself. There is some loss to the wood above the lock on the front of the box.
The lock works and we do have the key.

Each piece of the set is hallmarked on both the handle and the blade or
tines, with the maker's mark for the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co. Ltd, as
well as the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of
London, and the date letter for 1906.

Each knife is about 7 3/8 inches long. Each fork is about 6 1/4 inches long.

The total weight for the set, without the box, is 449.2 grams or 15.7 regular
ounces.
