Handsome Set Gorham Durgin Colfax 1922 12 Knives and Carving Fork

Presented is a great quality set of 12 sterling silver knives and one carving
fork made by Durgin and Gorham. Gorham bought out Durgin in 1924, so the pieces
marked with the Durgin hallmark were made beforehand. This set is in the Colfax
pattern, which was patented in 1922. The handles are designed with bell flowers
and nice beaded borders. Each handle has an L monogram.

4 of the knives are marked Gorham sterling handle and Gorham stainless on
the blade. The other 8 knives and the carving fork are marked with the Durgin
hallmark and sterling on the handle and stainless on their blades.

This set is in excellent overall condition. There is some minor surface wear
commensurate with age and use and a few tiny dings. There are no major dents, no
breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.

Each knife measures 8 5/8 inches long and the carving fork measures 9 inches
long.
