Presented is a set of 6 sterling silver dinner forks from English maker William Eley and William Fearn. These forks are all made in 1799. This set is simple and timeless in design. Each piece is an elegant and satisfying weight. There is a beautifully engraved crest of a lion with a fleur de lis at the top back of each handle. This crest is associated with the Perkins name, though I'm unsure what the star/mullet on the lion's shoulder indicates.

All 6 forks are hallmarked with the Lion Passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the duty mark of King George III's head and the date mark D for the year 1799. Each fork is hallmarked with the maker's mark “WE/WF” for William Eley and William Fearn

This set is in excellent condition, especially considering the age. The tines of the forks are sharp and parallel. There is very, very, slight minor wear, nothing of any consequence. There are no breaks, no repairs and no monogram removals.
