Presented is a handsome pair of American coin silver tongs by Hall, Hewson & Brower. The tongs have claw form bowls on the tips. They are monogrammed JAS on the end. They were probably made in the 1820s or 1830s.

They are hallmarked on the inside of the arms with the maker’s mark for Green Hall, John D. Hewson, and S. Douglas Brower and a retailer’s mark of G. A. Jones.

The tongs are in great overall condition. Both arms have splits on either side of the narrowest part of the arms. This is not very noticeable. The tongs are still very strong. There are no dents, no dings, no breaks, and no repairs.

The tongs are 6 inches long.

The weight is 34.1 grams or 1.2 ounces.
