Presented is a beautifully engraved set of antique American silver knives from the mid 19th century. These knives were made between 1839 and 1850. This set is done in a classical English or American style of the late 1800s. Each handle has flourishes surrounding a monogram of the name Hall. Each blade is finely engraved with a fruit and flower motif. The engraved designs on this set are incredibly well done.

Each knife has pseudo-hallmarks made to look like English sterling silver hallmarks attributed to Philo B. Gilbert. These knives are guaranteed to be at least 900 purity silver.

This set is in excellent overall condition, especially for its age. The designs are crisp. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.

Each knife measures 8 inches long and the combined weight of the set is 704.7 grams or 24.8 ounces.
