Ties-in /advertises FUJIFILM and Smithsonian National Zoological Park (Friends of the National Zoo) from Washington DC. This pin was acquired at least 15+ years ago and has been in our collection for many years-currently downsizing. PLEASE READ BELOW FOR ITEM SPECIFICS.
The National Zoo (as commonly called) has been hosting home to Pandas on "loan" since 1972. Unfortunately, China has recalled the Giant Pandas and they are leaving the DC Zoo (and soon, the last other zoo in the US with Pandas also will depart, in 2024). Here is a wonderful souvenir reminder of the Pandas time in the US.
SIZES & CONDITION SPECIFICS:
This Panda Bear Pin measures about 3 inches in diameter. Some minor bubbling around edges (may be original to manufacture). Minor surface scratches. Small dent on backside of pin. Some overall wear from age, item had gentle wear and handling by adult collector (originally belonged to family member).
Pin back has original needle and clasp on backside- SHARP AND STILL FUNCTIONAL.
