Entirely hand sewn/crafted by me using antique, vintage and (sometimes) more modern materials, here's a ribbonwork rose applique embellishment based on an Art Deco French Ribbon Rose design. The center floral is C.1980 100% silk (periwinkle) while the loopy leaves are May Arts ombre rayon. The back C.1950 sateen ombre (blue) is straight from a vintage postcard made in France.
Length is 2-1/2"; height is 1-1/8". The floral piece can be used on any item that does not need to be cleaned - if it does, the applique should only be pinned to the item then removed. The silk as well as the back sateen ribbon can not be washed. ONE OF A KIND!
Uses - dress applique, dolls hat, lingerie applique, hair comb - if you can think it, you can use it!
