A very useful book for woodworkers.  Choosing among all of the myriad choices available can be easier with this book.  See our second photo for an example of how each page shows a finished board cut plus an example of a possible craft and a photomicrograph of the wood anatomy seen in the end grain.   The text gives information on distribution, various metrics of weight, specific gravity, hardness, elastic modulus and shrinkage potential.  More details include color/appearance, rot resistance, grain/texture, workability, sustainability, and common uses of the wood.
