This is a rare, amber brown Hemaboloids medicine bottle produced by the Palisade MFG Co of Yonkers, NY in the late 1800s.  It is embossed "Hemaboloids" on both sides in elaborade script.  The bottom is embossed "The Palisade MFG Co, Yonkers NY" along with two number "3"s. The cork topped bottle (cork is missing) is mold formed with lip applied separately (and is slightly crooked). Hemaboloids, a purported treatment for Anemia and Malaria, appears to have evolved over time, in both bottle shape and "medicinal" composition.  Early versions like this one apparently were "arseniated with strychnia".  I guess if drinking arsenic and strychnine didn't kill you, it could cure you.  My father, an avid bottle digger, discovered this beautiful bottle in the ruins of an old homestead in Virginia more than 40 years ago.  Its in great shape, free from breaks or cracks.  (See photo closeups)  There is sediment deposit and discoloration from many years of exposure.  Hopefully, someone with the right chemical and brushes can clean it.  The rectangular bottle measures about 7.5" x 2.75" x 1.75.
