Baby in carriage Cabinet Card 1890s interested baby, textured card by Calbick

This baby is just raring to go! Sitting up with knitted cap and sweater, this one is restrained but not encumbered by the safety strap.

The paper of the card itself has texture, in a grid pattern, and the cream card is accentuated by the subtle trim in purple. There is a rampant lion with the word "Calbick" beneath it on the bottom right corner. I believe this to be the photographer's mark. There is no back mark, though the back is a different color and texture of paper.

I have found mention of a photographer named Ethel Calbick in Kalispell, Montana, but I do not know if this is her work.

Fading to image. Soiling to card. Card is more square than most cabinet cards.

Card measures 7 x 5.5 inches. Photo measures about 3.75 x 2.75  inches.

My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able.

There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.

I am always happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases, so please check out my other listings.

I will ship as soon as I receive payment.
