For sale is a superb plate in the Famille Rose coloration made in China in the 18th century. The piece is hand painted with European style flowers which is unusual and looks amazing. There is a large floral arrangement including a rose, three smaller arrangements as well as a single flower. A bit of gold highlights to make them look even better and a typical red and gold trim along the edge. The porcelain is thin and light and has a blueish greyish color instead of the white European hard paste. Iron stained foot ring as is typical with these earlier pieces. The plate is in great condition with two nibbles along the edge that were gilded in to hide them better and a flat chip to the underside edge as shown. Wear to the gilding. Some minor firing flaws typical to these pieces but it's as nice as they come and has a rare decoration. The piece is not marked underneath which is normal.
