Presented is a handsome Russian silver platter spoon or stuffing spoon or very large serving spoon. The spoon has an elegant applied shell motif on the end of the handle with the monogram EMG engraved below.

The spoon is hallmarked on the reverse with the 84 mark for Russian 875 purity silver, an assay master’s mark including the date 1845, a city mark, and a maker’s mark of GN. The city mark is far too worn to make out, but the rest of the hallmarks are easily discernible. Probably made in Moscow or St. Petersburg

The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.

The spoon is 12 1/2 inches long.

The weight is 140.7 grams or 4.9 ounces.
