1805-1818 Fab set 4 English Georgian Sterling Silver Round Open Salt Cellars

Presented is a great set of four English Georgian sterling silver salt cellars. Three of the cellars were made by Joseph Craddock & William Ker Reid, likely to match the fourth cellar which was made slightly earlier by John Emes. Regardless, all the salts match perfectly. The salts are round, with a pedestal type base and a simple triple-reed design around the rim. Each salt is engraved with a crest of a stag's head on the side.

This set is in great overall condition. There are a couple of minor dings here and there, but nothing of any significance in our opinion. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

Each salt is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, and King George III's head duty mark. Three of the salts have the maker's mark for Joseph Craddock & William Ker Reid, two with the date letter c for 1818 and one with the date letter u for 1815. The fourth salt has the maker's mark for John Emes and the date letter k for 1805.

Each salt stands about 2 1/8 inches tall and measures about 3 inches in diameter.

The total weight for the set is 293 grams or 10.3 regular ounces.
