Mai 1725 mit Papst Benedikt XIII vor dem Altar sitzend, in den Fluchtpunkt des Bildraums gerückt. Titel des Blattes findet sich mittig oben als Inschrift einer Schriftrolle: "Ichnographia Concilij Romani sub Benedicto pp. XIII Ann. Iubilei MDCCXXV.". Hauptzweck dieses Rates war die Unterdrückung des Jansenismus

  • Description: Elevated view of the Council in session in the nave of the Lateran Basilica from 15 April to 29 May 1725 with Pope Benedict XIII seated in front of the altar, moved into the vanishing point of the picture space. The title of the sheet is found at the top centre as an inscription on a scroll: "Ichnographia Concilij Romani sub Benedicto pp. XIII Ann. Iubilei MDCCXXV.". The main purpose of this council was the suppression of Jansenism
