For offer, an example of a Georgian period (George III) sterling silver 'Port' decanter or bottle label.

Embossed with a Lion mask, fruiting vine and shell decoration, complete with it's suspension chain.

Hallmarked for the Birmingham assay office, Monarch's head, year date letter of a lowercase "v" for 1819, and maker's mark of "L&C" set within a rectangle, for 'William Lea & Company' of Birmingham.

The condition is superb, with little wear, the suspension chain is whole without any repair, and the hallmarks are easily legible.
