Silver reliquary from the 18th Century containing a Holy relic of Saint Francis of Assisi, Founder of the Franciscan Order, Confessor of the Faith and Stigmatist, with its original episcopal Wax Seal and threads intact at the back.

The relic is probably a piece of the Saint’s clothes with his blood on it.

 

Reliquary description

Reliquary made of silver from the XVIII Century. Safely kept under a glass we can see the relic with its name resting on a velvet background, surrounded by resting on a velvet background, decorated with beautiful paperolle motifs and surrounded by a silver bullion thread.

At the back of the reliquary, we find the Cardinal’s wax seal holding the red silk threads and ensuring its authenticity.

 

Condition
Great condition. No missing parts. The threads and wax seal are intact. Beautiful patina.
