A GREAT COPY

Singer Eva Garza launched her career as a teenager in San Antonio, Texas, and emerged as one of the few Mexican-American artists to have earned an international reputation throughout the Americas. A consummate and seductive performer of the romantic bolero, during the 1940s and 1950s she collaborated with the most important figures in the field, including Agustín Lara from Mexico and Isolina Carillo from Cuba.

In a tribute published to Garza's death in 1966, the Mexico City newspaper Excelsior named her "one of the 10 best singers in Mexico." The newspaper's posthumous tribute noted that Garza “had distinguished himself from a very young age by the warm timbre of his voice, his emotional expressiveness and his great versatility, since he was equally capable of singing both the romantic boleros and the animated corridos and rancheros. , like tropical music and contemporary melodies. "

Garza recorded for several major record labels, including Columbia Records , which distributed his earliest recordings, which he made in New York, where he had moved to pursue his career. Although he died less than a year before his 50th birthday, he left behind an engraved catalog that is rich and deep. Garza is number 32 on the list of the 50 most recorded artists in the Frontera Collection, with 154 recordings in the archives. Singer Chelo Silva, also from Texas, is higher on the list, at number 6, possibly because Silva left the border town of Brownsville and maintained a more regional profile on the Tex-Mex record labels, a Frontera specialty.

A Quick NOTE ON GRADING AND SHIPPING:

As you can see from my feedback, I try hard to earn your POSITIVE FEEDBACK and FIVE STAR RATINGS.

If for any reason your transaction was NOT SATISFACTORY, pls contact me and I will work something out with you. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A REASON TO GIVE ME A NEGATIVE RATING or a LOW STAR RATING.

Quick note on grading:

The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately

When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise.
"EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET" is close to noiseless, like a vinyl pressing.
"VERY QUIET" is an above average quiet record for a given pressing.
"Quiet" is a record that is a great example with some noise.

These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment.
