Vintage Imitation Royal Vienna 8 Inch, 3-Footed Gilt Loving Cup with Blue Beehive/Shield Mark (see below). Measurements: This piece measures 8" in Height x 7-1/2" Diameter; it weighs two pounds, five ounces. Description: The cup features three gilt handles and three gilt lion's feet. A mural of three scenes surround the loving cup, with burgundy and emerald framing above and below the mural scenes with incredibly detailed gilding. Based on my rather amateurish evaluation, this gilding appears to be applied as decal, not hand painted. Condition: There are no cracks, chips or crazing. The rose and gold handles show wear. The interior edge of the top of the cup shows some corrosion which is shown in the photos. This is a previously owned vintage item and accordingly is sold as is. Maker's Mark: The base mark has ‘Austria’ above the upside-down Bindenschild (the true mark was a shield, not intended to be a beehive), thus it is not from the Vienna Imperial and Royal Porcelain Manufactory, and therefore likely not made during it's era of pre-1864. Regardless of it's lack of authenticity, as a reproduction it is an incredibly beautiful piece of porcelain that you will be proud to display. Authentic Royal Vienna products are priced in the thousands of dollars; I believe I am offering this for a fair price at a fraction of that.
