This Aneroid Barometer, housed in a hand-turned wooden case, measures approximately 184mm in diameter with a window diameter of 90mm. It displays readings from 950mb to 1050 millibars.

Invented in the 19th century, aneroid barometers provide an alternative to mercury barometers. They utilise a flexible metal box, called an aneroid cell, which reacts to atmospheric pressure changes, aiding in weather forecasting.

Crafted by a skilled carpenter, the wooden case offers both protection and aesthetic appeal. It features a small hanging hook for easy wall mounting.

Hand-turned wooden items reflect artisanal craftsmanship, shaped using lathes for symmetrical designs.

Annotation on the rear may denote the craftsman's signature.

These vintage barometers were once common in homes, offices, and ships, serving as functional weather monitors and decorative pieces. Light marks on the case indicate age and use, enhancing its authenticity.
