This sauce gravy boat is a vintage item with a ⅓ pint capacity, made of silver-plated material. It bears the branding of Claridges Hotel, a renowned 5-star hotel located in Mayfair, London. Claridge's Hotel has been managed by the Maybourne Hotel Group since its ownership.

Originally established in 1812 as Mivart's Hotel, it underwent expansion by acquiring neighboring properties. In 1854, it was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Claridge, who combined it with their adjacent smaller hotel, leading to its current name. Notably, the hotel gained prestige in 1860 when Empress Eugenie visited and entertained Queen Victoria there.

The design of the gravy boat is simple and lacks ornamentation. It is marked with its capacity of ⅓ pint and a serial number, W16397, underneath, alongside the manufacturer's branding for Birmingham Silver Plate Ltd (BSL). Birmingham Silver Plate Ltd was possibly a group association of Mappin & Webb, Walker & Hall, and Elkington around the 1960s, indicating the time period of the boat's manufacture.

The item exhibits signs of aging and use, with natural tarnishing that has been retained. The decision to polish away this tarnishing depends on personal preference.
