Ornate Silver-Plated Sugar Bowl with Cobalt Blue Glass Liner

This ornate sugar bowl, crafted in the 1920s, showcases intricate silver-plated design with a swing handle and a cobalt blue glass liner.

Primarily made from silver-plated metal and cobalt blue glass, this sugar bowl stands at approximately 117mm in height with a rim diameter of 118mm. The body features pierced pattern decoration resembling leaves, while the rim and handle boast a beaded pattern. The handle swings down for easy storage.

Resting on a pedestal foot, the base of the bowl is adorned with beaded decoration around the foot rim. Circular pierced pattern decorations add ornamental detailing.

An engraving just below the top rim adds a personal touch, stating "David Grenville Maile - From His Grandfather June 19th 1927."

Manufactured by Hukin and Heath, renowned for their high-quality silverware, the bowl bears their branding on the underside.

Despite its age, the sugar bowl remains in very good condition, with minor marks consistent with its age and usage. The cobalt blue glass liner retains its integrity, despite some small flea bites to the rim.
