This is a great lens the focal length if you want the "L" series quality at a reasonable price for the focal length, and a reasonable weight. (ask anyone who tries to carry or pay for the big brother F4 version of this lens). It is also great for astrophotography, light enough to be mounted on inexpensive star trackers for deep space imaging.
I'm letting go of this lens reluctantly, as I'm moving to mirrorless RF mounts, but this provides great optics at a reasonable price. I'm a Getty Images photographer, and have had this cleaned and inspected by Canon Professional Services regularly.
