1935 Diary of A High School Senior,
San Rafael High School
Complete Year Journal

A well written day to day journal of a young man in his senior year in High School, with all of the ups and downs, romance and heartbreak, written in the vernacular of the day ("Boy, I'll say!"). Lots of his daily routine, a lot of traveling by train and bus around the San Francisco Bay Area communities. The big city itself, Redwood City, Santa Rosa and Healdsburg are mentioned. Much of it has to do with sports, a football game attended at UC Berkely. Lots of games he listened to on the radio. He went to the movies a lot and the titles and cast are mentioned, along with a short review. 'A Night At The Opera' got two thumbs up. Irving was a good kid!
Much is written concerning his love life, culminating in his meeting 'Jean', possibly the girl of his dreams. Quite a drama. If you take a good look at the main picture, which is the title page of the diary, you'll find a big hint as to how the saga of 'Jean' played out!
His name was Irving Blabon, and after High School he went on to serve in the 9th Infantry in WWII. Thankfully he survived and lived until 1992.
