This is the H.B.T. (Herring bone twill) shirt specially designed for women during WW2 by the American Army.

This was the field uniform worn by women in the US Army including the Nurse's, the M43 combat jacket or the Officers field coat could be worn over the HBT uniform in colder conditions.
