This is an early Alfred Shaheen women's top or tunic. From an estate sale where the Hawaii paper memorabilia from the trip was early 1950's. I've had this for about 25 years because I collect textiles and I have never worn this item. It is tunic length with side slits, two sewn pockets and a mandarin collar. Cute sleeve that goes just past the shoulder and nice bust darts that shapes so as not to be a simple square piece of fabric. Super cute abstract print. Great color with zero fading.  Not marked but by today's sizing, probably a women's small. Nice fit. Very Eileen Fisher subtle structure.

Measures 21 1/2" from armpit opening to armpit opening. Measures 20 1/2" at where the waist would be and 21" across the bottom. Measures 28 1/4" from the neck/shoulder seam to the bottom.

Probably never worn before I got it. It feels as if it was never laundered. Clearly sewn by a single individual. From an earlier time in fashion with very generous facings on the inside.
