This zoom feature of this lens is smooth but firm, unlike many of these that freely “slide” from one extreme to the other. Please note while this lens will mount on all Nikon F mount bodies including film and digital, it is Non Ai and will not meter couple with newer and even some vintage Nikon cameras.
